Too many people in Sydney and Melbourne CBD, far too many cars. Hook turns are a pain but the biggest problem's the sheer volume of traffic. Give me a nice quiet suburb any day.

I'm never understood why people find hook turns so confusing. Theday I got my P’s; I drove by myself to the city and went around. Isn't itcommon sense, I mean other than the rule that clarifies when we turn which nowseems to be on green.

It frustrates me that peopletalk so much crap about how it is horrible, how it is a waste of time. We needthis system in the CBD, and it isn't hard to learn. Sorry but it justfrustrates me when people say driving in the city is tough because of hookturns...

I don't think anyone has said that they are horrible or a waste of time. I do think that the signposting could be improved considerably though. Unless you're a local it's not too easy to know when you have to do one.
