Hey guys,
I am considering moving over to a new skin for the forum.
You can get to it using the drop down menu in the bottom left corner of the page. It is called "MetalAxe" which is named after the guy who designed it.
Let me know if the new colours are better/worse!!!!
Otherwise I might just leave both skins and people can take their pick.
Or I might try a different one <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
Cheers, Glen

hi cameron, i didn't actually design the skin. I just made some small modifications to it. The skin designer is contactable here: http://metalaxe.com/
Though I think your crysis forum already looks pretty cool!!!

What did you have in mind? The main page at the top or the whole board?
I actually like the current colour scheme myself and I know changing skins ain't easy. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/kosa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Thanks. I'm only using the Crysis skin as a filler just until I find a camo skin.
EDIT: I looked through the portfolio & found nothing. Could you show me a pic please?

hi cameron, i don't know if they have a camo skin. I was just saying that the green skin that i was playing around with was made by them. i am sure they would do a custom skin for you but it would cost some $$$$. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> i found the green skin via the invision power website. Alternatively you could check out invisionize.com.
Best of luck!
hi PZ, I could leave both skins in place and people can take their pick. I was showing the website to some friends recently and they said my current colour scheme is crap!!! But it is good to hear that someone liked the old colours <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Ahh ok. IMO I don't have any money to pay for skins. I'll just get a free one. The Crysis one was free.

the new version of invision forum should be easier to skin but it will probably be 6 months before it gets released.

I just set the new MetalAxe skin as the default skin but I wil leave the other skin intact as well so you can take your pick. I might do some work on another skin too just for fun <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':fishie:' />

You can select it from the drop down box in the bottom left corner of the page.

That is a bit weird peter. Are you still stuck on a particular skin? <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' /> I can change it for you i think if necessary <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='^_^' />

hey peter,
don't worry about looking at the ads. feel free to use the noads skin! that is there for members.
non-members do not have the chance to use it...so they can look at the ads until they decide to sign up! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

IP pro Board is my preference.
Leaving optional skins would be good.

Not so much a new skin but a whole new version of the forum which will look quite different to the current one since it has more features. I will also be adding a photo gallery module.
To see what it will look like, you can see an example here:
http://community.invisionpower.com/
This is the third Beta version so the final "stable" version should be available soon <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Hahaha. No worries the more feedback I get the better.
I agree that having too many sub-forums is not a good thing.
Actually I am considering reducing the number of sub-forums we have now. Though not sure which ones to merge together! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />
