I attended a Fitness First in Ipswich (SEQ) for a couple of sessions with a PT friend of mine cos he got me free passes as he worked there.



Might I say it was huuuuge! I love the colour coded rooms but I found it to be a bit too corporate and fancy for my liking - there were so many rooms and equipment I didnt know where to start!

I loved the amount of treadmills etc (and the fact the ladies restrooms had hair straighteners!) but I seem to just be able to make a great workout with whatever I have available, I dont need the world at my fingertips.



The gyms Ive been a member of so far are:

Zest Fitness & Health (Booval, SEQ) - 9 months

Lifestyles Health Club (Redbank Plains, SEQ) - 2 years, 8 months

South Pacific Health Club (St Kilda Sea Baths, Vic) - 3 months

Fernwood Womens Health Club (Toowoomba, SEQ) - 5 months



Ive done some research for gyms and trainers around Point Cook and Ive found a few. There is one called Fenix Fitness at the new Point Cook shopping complex.

Any one heard about it / been there?

I forgot to mention I also went to PCYC Ipswich during High School haha! It was so retro there, they had all the old equipment in a cement-enclosed "dungeon-style" gym under the building, and the aerobics was totally old school. Like the TV Show Aerobics Oz-Style lol (i used to get up at 6am as a little girl and do the moves lol - shame).



I LOVED going to the sea baths. I loved how the treadies looked out to the ocean. That was the closed I have ever lived to a beach (i lived corner of Acland and Barkly streets). Yes it was expensive. But I loved doing a workout and then being able to relax in the sauna, spa and pool. Pure bliss. I felt very rich and luxurious lol.



I dont think my muscles are big enough to compare with any guy lol. Jason calls them my "tendons" when I flex them lol. Even though mine are sooo bigger than his lol, he's quite skinny.



I did manage to lose 2cm (circumf) from above each of my knees in one month, which my Slimplicity Coach was very impressed with.



We have an indoor heated swimming complex up here in Tba called the Milne Bay Aquatic Centre, never been though.

The baths have got to be one of the best places anywhere to work out... and I'm just going by assumptions. Last year before having moved to Geelong I was going to move to Elwood and The Baths Fitness Centre would have been at the top of my list of fitness centres to join.



Point Cook is a far ways removed from Acland Street!!

I used to walk and run down to Brighton on the weekends and go past the Elwood Baths - smaller than the St Kilda Sea Baths but still a lovely place to go to a gym <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

LOL -

the reason we lived on Acland Street last time was Jason got paid relocation expenses by his work and they put us up in temp accom in Quest on Barkly while we looked for a rental. We had no car so only looked for places in and around St Kilda. Just happened to find one super close and right next to money-sucking Acland street haha.



This time we have chosen to organise to organise our own temp accom and Jason has a few mates from his car club forum who live in Point Cook and they say its a great area to live in. It actually looks a #### of a lot like Toowoomba which is great cos we love the lifestyle up here (apart from Jason's lack of available work - he is a VFX artist). We need a house with a good yard for our dog, and a double lockup garage for reasonable rent and Point Cook is perfect for us going by the research we have done.

Jason will have a car to get to his job in South Melbourne, and im just gonna bum at home for a couple of months and see what work I can find close to home!

Its a personal training, classes/specialist gym.
