Tasman Makos is a new team from the top of the South Island. It is a feeder team for the super 14 Crusaders. This season in the Air NZ cup they have destroyed some major provincial teams and been oh so close to toppling others but lack some impact players who can cross the line to score. Last night in Wellington, Tasman Makos came close to destroying the Lions and lifting the Ranfurly Shield from the Wellington Lions who have not suffered a loss in 9 games.
