#1
Anyone has got a good place to recommend to get a tattoo done? Reasonable(cheap) price for a good one. Possibly somewhere near city.

Hi there is a studio just outside the city, their prices are about average from what I've been quoted at other shops. But remember its for life so you pay for what you get, sometimes cheap isnt always best.

Try these guys anyway they have a good reputation

Hi,

I've always wanted to be a tatoo artist and have the neccessary skills just needing a body or three to practise on.

My qualifications are the following:

I have a steady hand, most of the time.

I'm extremeley good at handling a bunson burner or soldering iron,

I like putting pins in people, in fact I got kicked out of accupunture school such was my fervour for it.

I own lot's of towels to soak up the blood afterwards.

Of course I like ink, I've done several pictures with ink and will find it easy to transfure these onto some human skin.

Let me know if interested, not so good with handling infections but have a decent supply of painkillers and anti-biotics at home.

Hiya. I don't know if anyone still requires answers to these questions as they are quite old. Although the yellow pages are good for many things, I would not use them (no offence to the suggestions otherwise) for tattoos. Tatts are lifelong and I sure as hell would not wish to choose one from a book.

One question also asked for "cheap". I say this as a woman with a hell of a lot of tattoo's and a lot of respect for "good" tatts (like I said.. lifelong!)... I have heard the saying "good tattoo's don't come cheap and cheap tattoo's aren't good" and generally this is true. Why pay a bit or even a few hundred less for a piece of art that is going to be etched on your body your whole life, but will most likely look a few hundred (or worse!) cheaper?

My advice, if you wish to take it... speak to those who know Melbourne tattooists well and have amazing tatts as evidence. I am both of these. I obviously cannot show you mine but I shall tell you some of the best places to go and if you google their websites or even look at magazines (including international) you will see the results for yourself:

Tattoo Magic on Gertrude St in Fitzroy (be prepared to wait. the best are booked out for a long time...worth the wait to not look like crud)

An Eternal Instinct, St Georges Rd in Northcote. Absolutely subline, every artist. Pay top dollar but look like a million bucks when they are finished.

Chapel Tattoo on Chapel St

Vic Market Tattoo's (my personal fave) on Victoria St in North Melbourne

and for the life of me I cannot recall the name as it is late and I am tired, but a brilliant place on Swan St in Richmond which I know well, as I say name escapes me. But if you are still viewing this I think that's enough to start with and I wish you luck...bad tatts are for life and damn, they are awful!!! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
