Buying An Apartment - Which Developers Are Reliable Or Reputable?

Hi! We will be relocating to Melbourne in about 2 months, and are thinking of buying an apartment along St Kilda Road or the surrounding areas. We have heard some horror stories from friends living in Melbourne about leaking apartments, even new ones!! Can anyone advise on which developers are reputable? Or which developments to AVOID??!! hi glen, we were looking at the Alto 594 St Kilda Rd, it's just settled this month. any opinion on it?

I have never heard of the designer but the pics look nice <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />



St Kilda Rd is a fairly busy (and noisy road) but I guess if the rooms have double glazed windows then noise will not be so bad. I would ask about noise proofing.

the Alto was constructed by Brady, has anyone heard anything good or bad about Brady?



how about the Chevron at 539 St Kilda Rd? it's next to the Alfred Hospital and i have concerns about the noise - ambulances and helicopter landings. but i don't know anyone who lives there, so not sure if my fears are unfounded.



any opinions on Aurora at 582 st kilda rd?

i would be concerned about noise too. otherwise it should be pretty good.

st. kilda road is a bit of a island and dead on a weekend. be prepared to travel for what you need.
