Quote:Iraq and Syria is created as spoils of the first world war. Western countries only see the state lines, but the problem is the people over there only see ethnic lines.   All very popular views but somewhat tarnished by the facts.  Middle East history did not commence with the 20th century. Think of any major empire apart from the chinese that has not had it's little go at the middle east.

I said "stuffs" because often times you don't know what it is just by a simple look. Quote:Or in other words, when will Hong Kong get any democracy/independance?Independence not within my lifetime, but hopefully democracy soon (as laid out in the basic law). It is a hard balance/struggle trying to weigh between the current (status quo) and the future. Hong Kong (btw) again is a problem created by the West. Back OT a bit, reckon Hockey will scrap the PPL to fund the war?

Well back on topic I must say the good cop bad cop routine that Abbott and Hockey are adopting has elevated Abbotts statesman image while maintaining pressure on Electricity Bill.

Quote:http://www.theaustralian.com.au/business...6e1bd4a784I'm wondering if we're reading the same article.. Â Quote:The survey showed business confidence continuing to erode, as firms remain uncertain over near-term demand. The index dropped 1 point to a reading of 4, its lowest level since a pre-election jump in mid-2013.That kind of means companies are holding on their cash reserves and not expanding, improving or hiring new staffs. The next rate movement is likely to be down... May be too little too late, RBA can't pump up the economy too hastily given how mad sydney is right now, so everywhere else have to suffer for a few months yet.

Sydney house prices are on the hooch; get rid of negative gearing
The biggest concern for me is the labour price index in the private sector. Pay rises are becoming a thing of the past, so don't expect the (sluggish) consumer confidence to vastly improve anytime soon. |
