A UK tourist suffered horrific injuries and had to have his spleen removed after a bungy jumping accident in Thailand.



Rishi Baveja was holidaying in Phuket after completing his engineering degree when he decided to make the jump at the Jungle Bungy centre in Kathu, the Daily Mail reports.



But instead of snapping him back from the bottom of the jump, the harness around Mr Baveja’s legs slipped off as he hurtled headfirst towards the water below at speeds of almost 130km/h.



Mr Baveja avoided permanent brain injury or death by breaking the water with his chest.



But he suffered a ruptured spleen, torn liver, collapsed lungs and massive bruising as a result of the impact.

While in Melbourne you might like to try kite boarding! That can be fairly extreme!

I've wanted to kite board ever since knocking back a free demonstration offer at Brighton Beach ten plus years ago.
