hahaha it was not from telstra. they get people to digitise phonebooks (probably somewhere in india) and then convert them into a reverse phone number database.

from memory the australian reserve phonebook program was called "marketing pro" and was made by a company called "Desktop Marketing Systems" but looks like maybe they got sued by telstra <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

I think that if telstra started offering this service a lot of people would refuse to have their number listed in the phone book. And then the white pages would disappear! And then they would lose a lot of money!

Emmm good point. I guess there is not much money in the white pages for personal listings <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> A community service? Wow that is a nice change.
