Welcome.

There are a couple of really nice girls (I've actually met them for drinks at a cafe) that frequent Melbourne Chat, Liliana.

You like rock music but you're a freak. Uhm... please elaborate on your freakishness, Liliana.

oh dear! sorry to hear about your cancer, but congrats on the recovery =)

it's good to get back into things after a while, you see how much people miss you! hehe

Secondary teaching, Mathematics and Health - I did miss the ambo scene a great deal a few months ago, but i've put it firmly in my past now, and I still see my mates - tonight in fact! - so it's all ok really.

Hopefully I won't go missing anymore for a while!

I'm playing a minor role as Louis in an Arthur Miller play titled "A View From The Bridge" that plays for three weekends finishing up this weekend (three more shows remain starting from Thursday night). We played to a full house matinee (a good accomplishment for a matinee) show Sunday and received an awkward standing ovation on Saturday night (an elderly fellow really liked the show and pretty much guilted the rest of the audience into standing).

Even though i've been in one other straight play and two musicals, "A View From The Bridge" is my first role with continuous dialogue and a substantial emotional range; containing distrust, laughter (all the way to hysterical which, is very difficult for me since i'm generally a serious person), remorseful empathy, disdain born from betrayal and finally ambivalence followed by deep sorrow at a loss of life. Pretty powerful stuff. One of the leading ladies had a rash on her chest after a performance because of the level of emotion required of her and the rest of the cast just got so intense on stage.

hmm, i don't know Suze well.

but it is quite easy to simply forget about posting when life gets in the way!

hopefully she'll come back soon.

And I hear that the UV rays can be just as bad on cloudy days.. its a bit worrying as I'm usually very good with the sunscreen, even forcing others to wear it - but only when the sun is out, otherwise i forget and it doesn't seem as necessary..

I didn't bother more than mentioning the show a little while back 'cause its all the way in Geelong.

There are three more shows this Thursday, Friday and Saturday... if you guys want to get a quick group together there might be tickets remaining, particularly for Thursday night.

Tickets for the remaining shows can be bought here: http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurc...p;schedule=list

The Woodbin Theatre is an intimate 80 seater in Geelong West: 15 Coronation Street, Geelong West. Shows start at 8pm and you can hang around after to meet the cast and/or have a glass of wine. oh and adult tickets are only $22.

Quote:A View From The Bridge

by Arthur Miller

A tragic love story written by the late great American playwright Arthur Miller.

The play is set in 1950s America, in an Italian American neighborhood under the Brooklyn Bridge in New York.

The area in which Eddie Carbone and his family live in is a tightly knit, poor community where everyone knows everything about everyone else.

Men work at the dock and the women stay at home cooking, cleaning and caring for children. Two illegal migrants from Sicily arrive to stay in Eddie's home and one of them Rodolpho, falls in love with Eddie's niece, who lives with Eddie and his wife under a set of Sicilian family rules and morals dictated by Eddie.

The consequent stand-off between Rodolpho and Eddie has tragic consequences.
