Night Out
#1
I have two tickets to The Comics Lounge (North Melbourne). If you want to head to The Comics Lounge and then go dancing at some random funky club on Friday 14th May (when i'll be in Melbourne), and in lieu of any misunderstandings, for a purely platonic night out.

T-pot, i'm actually thinking of you, being a fellow Subaru enthusiast and all, but not sure how often you check Melbourne Chat so i'm posting an open invitation.

Please, only serious interest as bookings have to be made in advance.

Hey dude.... if you're looking for more tag along n T-Pot agrees to go - i'd be happy to tag along and pay for myself (well depending on how much it actually is) also so long as T-pot be my chaperon for the night coz i have no other mode of transport except the scary public type! lol

Hey Kara, show tickets are $25 each and Dave O'Neil is headlining that night (meh) ...and you are fine with the dancing? I thought you weren't keen on clubs, Kara?

Here is the website for The Comics Lounge: http://www.thecomicslounge.com.au/DesktopDefault.aspx

Dave ONeil can be funny. I'll go if Tpot goes and take me! haha I never got into the club thing ... i wouldn't be interested in going all the time, but i do like it on occasion.

Kara, give T-pot a holler if you see her via MSN.

Where did you go Rock Climbing, Hardrock Nunawading? ...i've been to Hardrock CBD a few times, where they have auto belays.

I wanted to go dancing with a girl and not be a third wheel but Kara coming along will even up the group. Can you chauffeur me as well, T-pot?

What shall we do about the free ticket? ...the cost will be $50 (for two tickets and i have two free tickets, one of which i'm obviously claiming).

This night out is beginning to work out better than i could have imagined. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':notworthy:' /> ...my organization skills at Melbourne Chat have always been lack luster.

What do you guys think about Johnson St for the after partying, maybe the Night Cat (Hiphpop/Latin that night)?

Do we all agree that T-pot should get the other free ticket, especially if she is going to chauffeur. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':notworthy:' />

I'll book four tickets this Friday.

Hardrock CBD - was awesome ... will head to the Nunawading one sometime soon, and a friend of mine went to Cliffhanger and said they loved it more than Hardrock CBD so perhaps that might be on the cards in the not too distant future also.
Hi kara.

Are you still working at the coffee shop?

Hows BF?
Yah still working there - Mon-Friday now ... quite enjoying it, make quite a decent latte if i do say so myself! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' />

BF is awesome! we're very very happy and loving life ATM! =)

WICKED! i shall lock in Friday the 14th then for a night out on the town. Perhaps the BF would come too (tho i don't think he's much into dancing so it's unlikely but i'll ask him tonight)

Yeah, i've never been but Cliffhanger has the tallest wall so not surprising to be highly regarded.

T-Pot ... let me know what time you want to pick me up. i finish work about 5:30 so should be home and ready about 6pm - hope that's early enough :S

Iblis: is there a dress code to either of these places?

Neat casual should be fine, Kara. I'm not exactly sure about the Night Cat's dress code, their website suggests neat casual. Something you'd wear to a bar should be acceptable but there is nothing wrong with dressing up either way (i'll be wearing more than a t-shirt and probably a nice jacket too).

Cheers .... i am not really the 'dressing up' type ... and all i got are some nice thongs to wear with a dress ... but i guess i just wanted to know if converse all stars would be ok. im guessing we'll have to get some fast food or something before the club coz none of us will have eaten ...

I'm thinking i'll ask the BF if he'll come to the night cat ... i forgot to ask him about the comedy club so that parts too late ... but he might enjoy some dancing so i'll call the venue and ask what time the comedy stuff is over maybe.

It's going to be crazy tho... im meant to be up in the morning to go out on sat for skirmish - should be a tiring weekend - but fun! looking forward to it!

Well, you might as well invite your BF to the Comics lounge too, Kara. Just ring and make a booking, tables aren't assigned until the night anyways, let then know you want to add a plus one to an existing booking of four.

I really don't think we'd have time for a sit down meal between 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm. We can order side dishes during the actual comedy show instead.

Here is what's available during the actual comedy shows (taken from the website):

CHIPS WITH HONEY & MUSTARD AIOLI

WEDGES WITH SWEET CHILI SAUCE & SOUR CREAM

NACHOS WITH SOUR CREAM & GUACAMOLE

Skirmish should be so much fun!!

sweet! yeah im sure i could get away with a ###### cheapo meal like that just this once! But i wasnt thinking sit down meal anyways, more like macca's or something fast .... or something AFTER the comedy show - do you know what time it finishes?

As for the BF, yeah i'll ask if he's interested and let you know.

Also is there an entry fee into the Night Cat?

According to The Night Cat web site; free entry from 9 pm. The show starts at 8pm but I don't know the finishing time ...can't imagine more than 2 hours.
