Thanks for thread!

That's so true. Let's get that meeting soon and make this city a better place to live! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

Before that, (Glen) please tell me how can I do some fishing here? Do you have to have a boat? Can you borrow one? Can you fish from shore? Do you need a license? Where to buy gear? What you can fish? Etc.

Someone (Glen againSmile could start a thread?

Hi Melfin,

You do need a licence. It costs around $25 from memory. It goes up a bit each year.

Easiest is to try fishing on one of the piers like Mornington Pier or Portsea Pier.

The fishing regulations are here:

Look for the book called:

"Recreational Fishing Guide 2009-2010"

I also run a squid fishing website called squidfish.net - http://www.squidfish.net. Check it out!

You can buy fishing gear from Kmart, Rays Outdoors, Anaconda and also lots of little fishing shops.
