The #1 Gilligan Prize was first awarded on 11 June 2010 to a member of the MelbourneChat forum called PeterJ. The award is quite special since it commemorates the inspirational and long lasting impact that the Gilligan's Island TV show had on many people in Australia. It is not yet clear as to how often the award will be issued but given how many Australians loved Gilligan's Island it is quite possible that PeterJ will not be the last person to receive this very special and highly sought after award.
