Hello :)
#1
Hello! I would like to share with you a little bit about me:

I’m half-Australian and have never really been in Australia (was here when I was an infant- remember nothing at all). I am going to visit my aunt in Melbourne and spend here about two months. I would love to see what Australians are like, hear this beautiful accent and see as much of Victoria as I will be able toSmile I am going to come here for about seven weeks and I have a couple of questions to you.. May I participate in your meet-ups sometimes?? I would really like to become acquainted with some people, maybe some of you would like to show me the city..

If some of you like talking on msn or icq maybe we could arrange some conversations sometimes- I have a quantity of questions about Australia and everything..

I’m 21 years old, male, studying pharmacy at the time (exams now, terrible thing <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />), love music (almost any kind, but rock and its branches in particular), like concerts, books, football (soccer I mean- I guess you don’t call it football, but I’m unsure), jogging and other things (but I don’t want it to look like some kind of an advertisement of myself so that will do <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> ).

Would really love to hear from you

Ps. What does your winter look like??

SEEKER, THE WORLD CUP IS ON‼

The only time i show the slightest interest in football. I can't seem to stay up to watch the games though─might have to try harder for the Australian matches.

Come along to the next cafe meet-up or when ever the next is while your in town, here is the thread to the current cafe meet-up:

Thank you so much for your answers!

One of my questions now.. The thing you put into an electric socket (I have no idea how to call it) is completely diffrent than the ones we use in Europe. I am taking stuff that eat electricity, then do you know how to deal with that matter?<img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

A power plug adapter is what you are after and could probably find 'em at Bunnings Hardware stores (give 'em call first) and the like. You'd need a European to 3 pin Australian power plug adapter, there should be somebody in-store to help.

Here is a website that deals in power plug adapters: http://www.mittoni.com.au/power-adapters-c-28.html

Anyway, can you tell me what are the most prominent and prosperous mobile providers in Australia/Victoria? I am thinking about buying a pre-paid-phone. Could you recommend sth?

something affordable <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' /> <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Hi there seeker. By hotspots I presume you mean tourist attractions not wifi access points!

This thread may help:
