Hi Melbourne.
My name is Lyalya, but because it is very hard to say here, you can call me Lara.
I'm 19. I have just come in Melbourne (2weeks). I am from Europe, Ukraine, Odessa. I am studing in Holmesglen now.
I want to meet new people and friends. But your city is so big so I even don't know where and how.

Hi Lyalya, there is a big Russian population here in Melbourne.
The where and the how depends on what your interests are.

I'm not exactly sure... there are many Russians in Balaclava and Bentleigh (I live in Bentleigh East and there are three other Russian families just doors down), and everywhere in between. There are a number of Russian restaurants like Astoria and Matrioshka, and others. Years ago, many would frequent Maxy's in Elsternwick of a Friday night especially the younger crowd. I'm not sure how popular Maxy's is now.
Although i was born in Azerbaijan, i don't have particularly many Russian friends at the minute and can't really be more helpful.
