Forum Upgrade
#1
Hey guys,

If I get a chance I will probably upgrade the forum to the latest version either tonight or tomorrow night.

The site will be down for perhaps 4 hours during the upgrade.

I will make the changes in stages. First I will update the forum.

Then I will add on a photo gallery module.

Then a blog module. Though I have not decided whether this will be available to everyone or not. I have to play around with it first to see how it works!

Then I will add on an article system as well.

Hopefully it will all go smoothly!!!

Have a good one!!!

Glen

Hi Iblis, I will probably call it a day in a second since I have been at it for a few hours now and my eyes are hurting.

I wish I understood xhtml better! It was driving me up the wall just to set the width of a table! Took me an hour!

Cheers, Glen

I sympathize with you, glen. What you're experienced last night is pretty much what every day at work is like for me. :-)

You can now select a "mobile" skin that should be good for hand help devices like iphones and the like. If anyone has such a device please give it a whirl and let me know how it goes!

See in the bottom left corner to change the skin.

Great idea, glen. I sorta wish i had a mobile device to test out the new skin. Web sites accommodating mobile devices is a commendable initiative.

Yeah I had a guy asking me for a mobile skin only a couple of weeks ago!

Hopefully he can give me some feedback as to whether it is any good! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Is there anyway to set a default font for posts, glen?
Reply
#17
Yeah, Peter ....a hard to read impact. :-)

I don't know about Windows Live Hotmail but WIndows Live Mail allows for a default font, mines set to Calibri, used to be Candara but the numbers are to hard to read and my work emails often contain numbers.

Yeah, the names are a bit confusing, Peter. All these software titles fall under the single umbrella package named Windows Live.

Much nicer, Peter ...bit on the large side though.

It's in your profile next to your total post count.

This ipb3 looks good Glen. They've ironed out the bugs from the last two years <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />
