Sounds good to me, Kara. How far away is Starbucks from Hardrock (501 Swanston St), there are about five Starbucks in the CBD?

I'll be heading to Hardrock for some rock climbing after, all are welcome to come with.

yah i will come .... will you already have a partner coz if not we can be eachothers partners there. umm ill have to look it up but you can always just catch a tram up .... but its porb only a couple blocks anyways.

Nope, Kara, going on my lonesome. Hardrock has two auto belays but with two of us there we'll have access to a greater variety of walls to scale. I'll check if we need to book on a Saturday, might be a busy day for Hardrock, weekend and all.

OK, then ....i'll just park near Hardrock and catch a tram or walk to and from Starbucks. A walk through the CBD will be fun.

Yah i have been there before .... though i haven't tried the self belaying walls .... i like the walls at the CBD Hardrock ... they are beginner friendly however you normally have to wait in line for those walls. lol. yah it would be a busy day, but i don't know that they'd take bookings. Sounds like a plan. I'll be heading to Prahran later that evening so if it gets late i might have to leave but we'll have stacks of time!

BTW, everyone's welcome to bring someone along to the meetup if they like! i'll try n get one of two of my friends to come who live in the CBD ... i'll try n call Starbucks n get a table reserved (if they do it) so please let me know if you intend to bring anyone!

You're right, Kara, according to the Hardrock website, bookings are not required for groups of six or less people regardless of the day.

Not for at least a year now, last time being at Werribee Gorge with an organized group. We also did some abseiling of a huge cliff face, excitement plus.

nwoexposer, if your intereseted, there is also rock climbing. Kara and i will be heading to the Hardrock rock climbing centre after the cafe meetup. Hardrock has auto belays so even numbers are not necessary.

A belay is a person that keeps a taught rope for the climber and an auto belay, well ...it keeps the rope taught automatically, no person required, just a little faith that the auto belay will function.

I know there's a lot of people on here looking for new social connections, or are new to the city, etc. I would recommend meetup.com There's plenty of online meetups on there from all over the world, and many in Melbourne. Not only is it a great way to meet new people, but many of the groups are centered around specific activities. There's all types of groups on there ranging from walking, dining out, nightlife, anything. You can even click on 'ideas' to post your ideas for meetups.

I appreciate the offer but I'll have to pass on the rock climbing.
