Hello All.
What about these nice new âSmart Metersâ that we are forced to pay for?
The truth has emerged.
In the Herald Sun a day or so ago was an article explaining how very altruistic are our kind energy suppliers.
Here was a woman of limited means extolling how kind the electricity supplier was for âlimitingâ the amount of electricity she could consume in her house.
As she can afford only a small number of dollars, so the energy company restricted the flow of electricity to match the dollars.
I guess in her case a few lights and the fridge.
The plus for her was that she was removed from the temptation to use up big, not be able to pay and thus risk a disconnection.
All well and good.
But . . .
It shows that the energy supplier can remotely restrict energy flow through the meter to your house.
Picture this:
Next year the desal plant comes on line.
It consumes huge amounts of energy.
No one has explained where this energy is coming from.
Brumby is going to close down the worst polluting power station, but no replacement.
(Oh spare me the BS about solar/wind/tidal/dung/whatever replacement).
So when high Summer strikes and supply exceeds demand we will be slugged huge dollars for the precious commodity and/or it will be throttled back via these nice new save you money meters.
You wonât have a say or choice, unless you happen to live in Brumby land.
