What Are Your Honest Opinions On Cranbourne?

I have heard a lot of people having critical opinions on Cranbourne but also some people having positive opinions or opinions along the lines of "It's not that bad" (more the latter). It's clear that there's much more negative opinions than positive opinions on Cranbourne.



I've also heard a lot of negative opinions on other outer southeastern suburbs, especially near Cranbourne (i.e. other suburbs in the City of Casey).



What are your HONEST opinions on Cranbourne and other outer southeastern suburbs?

I went to the Cranbourne shopping centre and it had a trashy feel to it <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />



But I am sure there are other shops like Fountain Gate that are better.



Another long lasting impression I have is from that rubbish tip disaster where there was gas leaking into people's homes. But I guess that was only a small portion of the suburb.



Otherwise cranbourne seems fine to me.

What did you find trashy about it? I find that the parking layout there is terrible and there aren't too many decent places to eat.



Fountain Gate definitely has better shops, but it can feel kind of dead during weekdays and parking can be difficult. Also, a lot of shops close early. But at least the restaurants near the cinema entrance are open until late.
