Disney Exihibition
#1
The center for the moving image is always worth a visit but the current exhibition Dreams Come True about the fantasy art of Disney is simply beautiful. If you are not a lover of Disney animiation stay home but to those who can wish upon a star must see it. The cells are beautiful and some of the art is simply breath taking.t

If visiting Dreams Come True the admission is $16 full fee. There are concessions available. You will need a couple of hours to see DReams. While its great to see THe FRog Prince and Disneys latest film Tangled with sketches, story boards and cells the real interest of course is looking at the classic Snow White. THere are incredibly rare documents and prints probably worth millions and the genius of Disney is unforgettable. Yes we all know dear old WAlt was not the nicest of men but no one can deny that he was a genius who was able to asemble the greatest animaters ever in his studio. Sleeping Beauty, arguably his classic is well represented as well as Cinderella. My only regret is there is nothing on my favorite FAntastasia. Still thats being a bit picky. Its not as big as a few other exhibitions at ACMI but thats actually a plus. You can view it quite comfortably in about 2-3 hours.

But there is a bonus you MUST NOT MISS!!!!!

However please don't miss the latest installation THE RAFT a remarkable "experience" by Bill Viola. Its only about ten minutes and its free. I don't want to spoil it for people and tell too much about it but is riveting and its easy to see why it has received so much acclaim. I don't know how long it is on for but I ended up watching it four times. Its incredibly poignant and visually stunning. Its strictly for lovers of film.

This is a stunning installation and if you love film you will be bowled over by this incredible and moving work.
