My dear sir, you are a genius... You have completed our poem... Here is the finished product all...
"Gold at the Olympics"
By PeterJ and MaggieMoo
The journey through customs was long
Searching each item for some sort of substance
"Sports legend, my foot!" Whispered one colleague to another.
Sue heard what was said and giggled to herself
She was just about to step out into London
Her life long dream was finally coming true
Other Olympians standing along side her smiling
Knowing these customs officers could only dream of such achievement.
An Italian Olympian winked at Sue as there eyes met
This meeting of eyes did not immediately stir in Sue's breast
She had promised her parents that gold had to come first
Even though his dark Italian eyes ogled her longingly
She would not allow herself to fall.
Suddenly Sue was battling conflicts that began welling up inside her.
As much as she tried to quell the stirrings one was strong and new to her
She had dated before and never felt how she felt right now
Was it the excitement of finally winning a gold medal
Or love for a man she had not said two words too
At last the medal was won and there were still two days remaining
She wanted so much to see her Italian beau
If he only knew how she really felt... Alas, he approaches
He recognised Sue as the pretty girl at Heathrow
Only then did she realise he was not alone
Hand in hand with him was a woman she knew instantly
She was the brilliant Russian two time gold medalist Gymnast
Sue turned and melted into the crowd thinking as she retreated
Dad and mum will be so proud of my gold.
Let's hold hands and take a bow.. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/im Not Worthy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':notworthy:' /> <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/im Not Worthy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':notworthy:' />
