Hey Aussie, where the Bali are you?

Balinese tourist operators have a new internet advert on YouTube asking "Aussie, where the Bali are ya?!" The advert is a cheeky spin on Australia's high-profile "Where the Bloody Hell are You?" tourism campaign.

Bali, the premier indonesian resort island, has been suffering economically since many Australians stopped visiting due to the 2002 and 2005 Bali bombings. The new ad said Bali suffered a terrible economic blow as a result of the bombings and the ad was is all about spreading the good news that Bali remains a fantastic, fun holiday destination.

"Hey look! The Japanese are surfing your bloody waves," Katut, the Balinese tour guide says on the ad. "The Italians are drinking your bloody beer... The Germans are laughing in your bloody pool bars....The Dutch are wearing your bloody thongs...".

The ad was created by Brett Morgan at a cost of just $3000. "It's a lot cheaper than the $180 million on the other campaign," Morgan said, referring to the Australian ad campaign. Morgan hopes the ad will encourage Australians to head back to Bali.
