An election question!

What is a MAMIL?

Clue:

It can be applied to Tony Abbott.

Answer:

Middle Aged Men In Lycra.

What's the best thing about the new government?

No more hectoring or lecturing or admonition, from know all school teachers.

And the independents are irrelevant!

Amen I say!

Naturally all my own opinion.

Hi Peter,

Looks like the new Government will not have the numbers in the upper house (senate).

Will be interesting to see if they can actually get their legislation through.

Someone was telling me that eventually the liberals will get the numbers in the senate but I think that does not seem correct.

The following pages suggests they still will not have the majority in the senate, even after 1 July 2014 when some of the senators' terms expire.

Yes it does seem odd that minority parties so often end up holding the balance of power. Perhaps the design is a bit flawed.

I think the power goes to their heads. They go a bit loopy.
