Cars Buy In Melbourne - arbalest - 05-01-2009 I am thinking of buying a used car from a private seller. What things do I need to do like Rego etc, also is it better to buy from a dealer? This guy is giving me RWC as well, the Rego expires Feb 09, how do I renew it and do I need to have a VIC licence to do this or buy the car? I have an overseas licence, any help will be greatly appreciated!! Cars Buy In Melbourne - glen - 09-01-2009 hi ARX, have you read the info on the vicroads website? http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au i think there is also some useful info on the consumer affairs website: http://www.consumer.vic.gov.au/CA256EB5000...ed+Car~&3=~ Cars Buy In Melbourne - MILL8787 - 02-11-2009 I have a business helping new aussies find cars and anything else they need give me a call 0401033757 Cars Buy In Melbourne - 2004benblue - 06-11-2009 its better to buy from a dealer than a private seller but more expensive because normally you get warranty from dealers and with private sellers its sold as seen(no taking it back when and if it breaks down). I think Vicroads send renewal notices to the car owner's address a few weeks before the Rego expires to remind them to renew it. Temporary residents or visitors are allowed to buy cars and drive them as long as they have a valid licence from certain countries for their duration of stay in MLB as far as I know |
