there are only a couple of legitimate Krav Maga schools in Melbourne and thats not one of them!
the closest REAL Krav Maga gym to that "shi heun" karate school is in Caulfield.

It's obviously NOT someone who "just joined a club", they have spammed this exact message on a bunch of forums. The worst part about it is that they are frauds and should be stopped!
I think that it is important that the public be made aware of lies, especially when their lives could be put at risk!
People it is Karate NOT Krav Maga. Don't rely on me, look it up!

Krav Maga is an awesome system and is used by many great law enforcements agencies right round the world. It's a big shame that someone can come to Melbourne claiming that he is teaching this system when he is really teaching something else.
When i first saw one of his posts (spam), i called the head instructor of one of the international federations of Krav Maga. When he heard they call it Shi Heun Krav Maga he laughed. In Israel it is called Shi Heun Karate and is not very succesful. I guess they are trying to branch out and take advantage here but have realised that their product cannot sell itself!
Either way i reccomend you check out Krav Maga (the REAL version). That school in Caulfield i mentioned before ( [url="http://www.idftraining.com.au/index.php?view=page&pageId=6"]http://www.idftraining.com.au/index.php?vi...ge&pageId=6[/url] ) has a really good reputation. Otherwise I think that there are a couple of other legit ones.. maybe e-mail them for details of the closest school to you.

I saw krav maga practitioner in National Geographic's fight masters. It is similar to Jet kune do, both martial arts are very practical forms of self defense. I had formal karate training, but I tried to learn jet kune do from books, videos and any other resource I could get, really practical martial arts form.

@ Peter in National Geographic's the practitioners where actually training the REAL Krav Maga (of Imi Lictenfeld), none of this Shi Heun Karate ####!
There has been a few good shows on Krav Maga. Just be sure that when you are looking for a place to try it out that it is actually Krav Maga! For example Shi Heun is not Krav Maga.
