The Herald Sun Melbourne Home & Garden Expo is currently on (Thursday 20th - Sunday 23rd August).

Anyone been, anyone going?

Havn't been before myself but hoping to get along on Sunday and have a look around. Interested in pantry ideas - the next big project around the house, have a large alcove off the kitchen that is perfect for a good size walk in pantry, but want to check out different shelving, storage options and ideas.

Also always interested in outdoor entertainment areas, ours is coming along nicely but always looking to improve/add.

And lastly not sure if this will be found here but have a very old fire place that is no longer in use that I want to restore/convert into something more decorative.

Hello A New Man!

Well first, I wish I could summon up the enthusiasm you demonstrate in you post.
I did once have it, but alas no more!
Anyway the fireplace sounds as if it could simply be left (after refurbishment) where it is.
Thus be an attractive feature of the room.

Have seen some nice fireplaces done up with something simple put inside, candles, vases etc - still not sold on anything I've seen though. Don't need it to be functionally as have ducted heating throughout but as mention would be a shame to lose such a attractive feature of the room.
