As I said, Turncoat was knifed cos he was the party millstone.
You are right about one thing, he knows more about the party than I do, cos that was his job.
Not sure if he knows more about the party than you do.

As I said, he knows more about the Liberal party than you or I.

As I also said, Turnbull was knifed because he wouldn't be controlled by the external forces that undermined our democracy for the sake of personal gain.

I think you might be referring to someone else? I don't know anyone called Turncoat.

Hi Peter. No sarcasm. Melbourne's a pretty big place so there must be something to talk about.

Did you know they're moving the Tassie ferry port from Melbourne to Geelong.?

I didn't believe it but it's happening > https://www.abc.net....eelong/12175868

I think that's bad.

Yes PZ.
It is happening.
All to do with the "owners" of Melbourne Docklands jacked up the berthing fees.
I think we leased it?
But you know every cloud ....
The folk at Geelong and further west now get good access. A pain in the butt for the people of Melbourne, cos it ain't a picnic driving or training to Geelong.
Hmmmm I have a strong feeling the service will go pear shaped.

Why do we have a defence force!

CHARLES MIRANDA

Chinese firm holds our secrets THE Department of Defence has signed over the storage of its secrets to a Chinese-owned company in defiance of apparent orders from the federal government.

For years, data storage firm Global Switch has stored the nation’s military secrets at facilities in Ultimo in inner Sydney.

But that was set to change after its London-based parent company Aldersgate Investments sold a 49 per cent stake to a Chinese data tech consortium five years ago.

The change was to come when the contract ended in October last year, but a new contract tendered to the federal parliament on Tuesday revealed it was instead extended to September 2025.

The quiet re-signing came at a cost of $53.5m, about $300,000 over the original quote, despite the then treasurer and now Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, saying in 2017 Defence would shift all of its data to an Australian-owned hub by 2020.

A notice of motion tabled with parliament by Queensland MP Bob Katter and former army officer and independent federal MP Andrew Wilkie has called on the government to immediately terminate all data storage contracts held with foreign-owned entities including China, US and UK.

“What is the point of having a defence system when a military 100 times larger than ours knows where all your defence assets are?” Mr Katter asked on Tuesday. “Do you know where our F-35 (fighter jets) are? I don’t , but they do.

“I am quite shocked but not surprised that the information of the Australian armed forces is available to a Chinese company called Global Switch.

“Global Switch is inside the information systems of the defence forces of Australia despite being ordered out by the man who is now Prime Minister.”

The motion will be debated on Monday.

Defence confirmed it extended its property lease of the data storage, but said a formal response to questions about the contract and national sovereign security was still being drafted.

It is understood Defence is not the only agency to store its sensitive documents and online gateway access to files with Global Switch. The Australian Taxation Office and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission have their files with Global Switch, but are advanced in the process of moving them out.

Maybe it's a decoy ?

Tell 'em our F-35 jets are monitoring the Melbourne lock down zones when they're really guarding the WA rare earth mines :)

Well Donald.
That's a good thought.
However if it's true that China stores our defence data, then it's highly unlikely that the defence boffins are smart enough to think of that.
PS. Please come and make Australia "grate" again.

I'm beginning to warm to the idea.

Maybe we can use the defence "data" to infiltrate the enemy on their turf...

Fight the evil at its' source :)

So Spacedout Book dies in Aus!

Well I have never been beholden to a Farce Book so I doan care.

But why oh why do we have essential services like some health and notices and multiple other stuff using a privately owned foreign platform?
I guess people think it's free so why not?
I guess it has now come back to bite them!
