Heya, this is my first post :)

I currently live in Perth, I just graduated and I'm starting Uni this week.
However I did not sit my TEE in year 12 (I did in year 11), The university I have been accepted into is Edith Cowan Universtiy, they have a special bridging course call Uni Prep - which goes for six months rather then a year and is done on campus!

Anywho, My family and I plan to move to Melbourne once Ive finished my degree - But I am desperate to move over there NOW! Cut a long story short,

I need any (and all!) help I can get with applying for universities in Melbourne! More prefereably, The bridging courses/schools in Melbourne!
We have one called "Tuart College" in Perth, I'll do anything!
I hope this all makes sence, Im the oldest in my family and the first to even go to uni.. so this is all so new to us and we kept getting left behind!

ANY help much appreciated!!! Websites/Phone numbers anything even related!! Thanks!!

hi loz,

i am not sure what sort of info we can offer you over and above what you would get if you just rang the uni's directly. Do you have any idea which uni in melbourne you are interested in? What sort of course did you want to do?

Cheers, Glen

Well, hmm it's kinda hard to expain because I'm not sure exactly how similar the system is over here.. But basically to apply for university you must have sat your TEE (Tertiary Entrance Examination) in year 11 and 12, if you didn't though there are bridging courses which counts as you sitting TEE (You get results back too, the same as other TEE students would have), and then you may apply for uni's as you would have had you done exams in year 11 & 12.

Our family wants to move to Melbourne once I have completed my degree at university (3 years), However if I can apply for universities in Melbourne now, then I would use my bridging course results to do so (Bringing it down to 6months-1year that I would have to wait, have I be accepted)

If Melbourne doesn't operate on the same system, I'm more then happy to sit a bridging course IN Melbourne, then apply for a uni there.

I hope that all makes sense..
Even the slightest bit of information that would help; if there's a website that ranks/recommends Melbourne Uni's, or explains requirements for uni, even a website that FURTHER recommends websites to help!

And I'm undecided what course I should like to sit but it would definiteley be out of Business/Nutrition/Health/Sports Science

Thank you!!

Well the best know unis in Melbourne are:

University of Melbourne
Monash University
RMIT
La Trobe
Deakin

And then there are a few smaller ones like

Victoria University
Australian Catholic University
Swinburne University of Technology

For info on the VCE (which sounds like the TEE thing you mentioned) look here:

http://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/VCE/

And for info on uni courses look here:

http://www.vtac.edu....earchfield.html

Also this looks very helpful:

let us know how else we can help.
