Greetings!
I will be moving to Melbourne in 6-8 weeks, and will be seeking permemant residency. I have a job lined up outside of Melbourne, but I may not take it. Doesn't matter, I am coming to Melbourne no matter what. I am coming from the United States as a single 35 yr old male, so this is a very nervous transition for me. I have a ton of questions, and would like to find a contact before I make the move.
Basically, I just need a person who is willing to answer my 50 questions. For instance, I have questions about the surrounding suburbs, where are the high crime spots to avoid? can I rely on public transportation to get around? what cultural ettiquette should I be aware of? I love to swim/bike/run, where can I do this? Should I buy a Vespa scooter, or a car? Is getting a working VISA easy? What do I need to know about renting an apartment? ... and so on...
