Just been on hold for over 2 hours to the phone - of course with the fear that if I hang up my call would have been answered a few seconds later. How long before you hang up?!
wow! 2 hours is crazy! i would hang up after 30 minutes i guess. it depends how desperate i was to get thru i guess! if i had lost my passport or credit card i might be happy to wait an hour <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

wouldn't it be nice if they tell you approximately how long you will have to wait! some companies do it. knowing how long it is gonna take certainly helps to contain the customer rage!! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

This was on the phone, to the phone company! You'd of thought they'd employ more staff!
yeah a phone company, of all people, should have a system in place where they can let you know how much longer you will have to wait! that it terrible! can you change phone companies? <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
i'd pbbly wait 10 minutes, but i've done longer... depends how angry i am especially when calling my isp!
hi sherwin, i had some terrible trouble with ISPs (internet service providers) in the past! i am currently with optus cable and they have been pretty good <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
If I am using a speaker phone, I will wait indefinitely, because at least I can get some other work done online in the meantime.

However, if my hands are occupied by the phone, then I don't see myself waiting more than 30 minutes. Haha, but I can understand your concern about hanging up and then having them answer the phone within the next 2 seconds. Companies don't seem to understand that service is everything. Or maybe they do, but they have all consorted with each other and decided to keep the same pathtic service across the board. Bast--ds!
Max I've waited is 30 minutes... you know after that they'll forget about you.

Usually If I'm on that long I will forget who I was calling. I have had my prepaid phone minutes actually run out while I was on hold with the cable company before. I was extremely angry with them because the reason for the call was regarding an error they made. I usually give up after a couple of minutes because I figure the service I'm about to get won't be worth a darn if the agents are that overloaded with calls.
Hmm, I don't think I could physically wait longer than an hour, I would collapse, a heap on the floor.
