Business 3000 aims to promote business success and excellence in Melbourne. The achievements and innovation of Melbourne businesses are acknowledged and recognised through an annual awards program.



Four major business breakfasts are held throughout the year, with a distinguished guest speaker.



Three award nominees are given the opportunity to highlight their achievements at the breakfast.

Domenic Carosa co-founded destra Corporation in 1993, when he was in his late teens. Domenic has been responsible for transforming destra into the multi-million dollar company it is today.



Domenic has considerable experience in the IT sector, building the second-largest virtual web hosting company in Australia (OzHosting.com) from the ground up, playing a major force behind destra’s listing on the ASX in 2000.



At the time, Domenic was the youngest CEO of a public-listed company in Australia. Under his direction, destra has branched out from its core web hosting and communications business to become one of Australia’s leading independent media companies. The company recorded its maiden year profit in 2004/2005 with a turnover of $15.687m, and more than doubled this in 2005/2006, recording a turnover of $32.890m.



Domenic is committed to innovation, with other achievements including building Australia’s largest independent digital music website (MP3.com.au) and launching Australia’s first legal and commercial digital download service (destraMusic). In the early ‘90s, he co-founded the Sprint Group.



Domenic is currently Chairman of the Internet Industry Association, Chairman of the IIA Digital Music Taskforce and has won numerous young achiever awards. He is also founding Director and major shareholder in Musicpoint, a B2B digital service for the music industry.
