The 57th Melbourne International Film Festival or 'MIFF' to it's friends, returns July 25 - August 10 in 2008. Australia's pre-eminent and much loved Film Festival, MIFF is an iconic event on Melbourne's cultural calendar.
MIFF hosts a feast of cinematic delicacies from over 50 countries for some 17 days each winter, heavily garnished with a range of parties and special events that envelop the CBD. In addition to screening the very best in world cinema, MIFF is Australiaâs largest showcase of new Australian cinema and most vocal champion of both emerging and established local film making talent. From itâs earliest days MIFF has provided audiences with a unique window on the world and has acted as the leading intellectual and artistic catalyst in Australiaâs screen cultural landscape. And 2008 will be no exception!
The Festival screens across 5 CBD locations: Forum Theatre, ACMI, Greater Union Russell Street, RMIT Capitol Theatre and the Kino Dendy (TBC).
