WHAT DO WE DO
Interchange Services & Programs
Interchange agencies across Victoria provide a wide range of programs and services. The main service provided is the host program which provides respite, as well recreational opportunities. To find out more about these programs please click âOur programs and servicesâ and âwhat is respite?â. To gain insight into the lives of people involved in Interchange, please click âLiving with a disabilityâ.
Host Programs
The Host Program aims to recruit volunteers to provide respite care to families who have a child or your adult with a disability. The care is provided on a regular basis within the volunteerâs own home, for example one day, an overnight stay or weekend each month. These arrangements are flexible to suit the volunteers and families needs.
Recreation Programs
The recreation program consists of a range of fun community based activities. The program provides opportunities for friendships and new exciting experiences, while giving families a much needed
short break.
Volunteers are needed to assist the young people who have a disability on these outings. Recreation activities could include going to a movie, learning to canoe or having a picnic in a park with friends.
