Nepal Festival Melbourne - The aim of the Nepal Festival is to promote Nepalese culture, heritage, tourism and trade amongst all the Nepalese residing in Australia and the wider Australian community. To enhance the flavour of the day, there will be cultural extravaganza, food, information and handicraft stalls, live music performances by top Nepali band and several other fun activities and programs. Nepal Festival Melbourne 2008 will be the second Nepalese festival ever to be staged in Australia. Nepal is a country with diversity and different ethnic groups. It is indeed rich with diverse ethnic cultures with each ethnic group having its unique culture and festivals. This event will be the second ever in Australia to bring together all diverse Nepali ethnic groups as one "Nepal" to celebrate with the people in Australia. The main focuses are to promote both Nepal and Australia as a destination for tourism, education, culture, cuisine and entertainment.
