You may be aware the Immigration Department announced changes to the Critical Skills List on 16 March 2009. At that time it was advised that General Skilled visa applications would be processed by the Department in the following order of priority processing:
⢠employer-sponsored permanent migration applications, where skilled migrants are sponsored to go into jobs unable to be filled locally.
⢠applicants nominated by state and territory governments, who were also given greater scope to meet critical skill shortages in their jurisdiction; and
⢠applicants who have nominated an occupation on the CSL .
