Thanks for the reply, Peter. I was beginning to wonder about the legendary Aussie hospitality, but it's probably the lc street speak I laid down that first message in--we actually do speak English believe it or not, but then who in #### wants to hang with an old white guy who can only speak proper English? And anyway, most of my Stateside bros, my posse, are musicos, axemen, r&r blues hiphop poets and painters, teachers and no preachers or taxmen, lol. So there you go, a little more to the point. And btw, aging is one thing for certain: soon to come to your own local theater. Rock on, mate.
Aussie hospitality is more evident in the outside world besides, the human traffic here is minimal.
Hey, back finally, did a bit of touring the past few days. The coast is lovely.

Am in Melbourne on a book assignment, a getaway to write--it's a fiction, a novel, won't give away too much, am superstitious in that way. . . .

It's all I do, nowadays, that, play some tunes and hit the beach--have a nice little yacht, a cruiser, a hole in the water that you pour money into. Sometimes I live aboard, used to do that permanently but now it's mainly for kicks.

Not sure what landed me on here, just kind of whapped on the head after a long trip, wuz my first few days in town. And then after you post one dumb message the rest gets easy.

Peace out, y'all. . . .

Well seeing I cannot meet with you in person, so tell us a bit about yourself.

What are you writing about?

Do you write books? Or for papers?

Why are you in Melbourne.

You want to talk to someone, then go to a football match, talk to the people next to you.

They will gladly explain what's happening.

Anyway I'm an ol' white guy.

Totally unreconstructed! Much to the dismay of Svet and T Pot.

Hey Svet how are you? Got over the flu? Come back!

Best wishes.

Hi Tusa

I hope the book goes well. I have an ending for you. It could go something like this:

....."Have you ever heard of Melbourne Chat?" asked Brian. "Uhh...No", Mary yelled from the kitchen where she was flicking through some old cooking books. "Emm. Well its a website about Melbourne and it is really pretty good. Lot's of people are talking about things to do in Melbourne and so forth", mumbled Brian. "Where's Melbourne honey?" called Mary above the sound of the blasting kettle. "Its in Australia sweet pie", called back Brian. Suddenly Brian had an incredible idea. One that he knew Mary would jump on in an instant. "Honey, we are heading to Melbourne for our vacation OK", called Brian with a hint of nervousness in his voice. "OK", said Mary, "Just let me finish cooking dinner OK dear?". Brian smiled. This was going to be their best adventure yet.

THE END.
Ha, I'll let y'all finish those stories, who knows, you might have a literary career ahead of you. I can see why people migrate here though. Thanks for the good vibes.

St Kilda is a happenin' scene, no question, though yr right, it's not all that contemplative.

My football and yrs are probably a little diff, mate--in America the football Saints are New Orleans--though i did hear on the news about the win, yep. I like the idea of yr game, rough and tumble without the pads, but don't have much of a clue what's going on. Maybe I'll pick up on a live game before it's all over.
